Q1. A Porter Governor has two flyweights each of mass 1.4kg, a central mass of 20kg and arms of length 210mm. At 300 rev/min the sleeve is just about to rise and the arms are at an angle of 35° to the vertical. Calculate EACH of the following:
(a) The friction force at the sleeve;
(b) The speed at which the sleeve would begin to fall.
