Q3. (a) The impedance, Z, in. an a.c. circuit is given by the formula:

Z = √(R² + (ωL - 1/ωc)²)

Transpose the formula to make C the subject. (6)

(b) Solve EACH of the following for x:

(i) (x + 6)/4 + 2x/5 + (3 - 3x)/8 = (3 - x)/16. (4)

(ii) 12x² + 7x - 12 = 0 (4)

(iii) x² = 10. (2)
